From 1999-2000, S. Joanna Bartlett-Gustina was a staff writer and columnist for the Crossroads Chronicle in Cashiers, N.C. Joanna was responsible for covering local events, profiling people of interest and providing insight into the workings of the community. Proofreading and copyediting were an extensive part of the job, as was layout and design of the newspaper. She was published under the names Silandara Skydancer and Silandara Bartlett.
