Genesee Land Trust is the local, not-for-profit land trust in the Greater Rochester region working to protect open space for public benefit. Founded in 1989, Genesee Land Trust is one of 1600 land trusts nationwide. The Trust is funded primarily by membership dues and contributions.

S. Joanna Bartlett-Gustina served on the public information committee of Genesee Land Trust from 2002-2003, providing newsletter writing, photography, public relations and website consulting services.

During the course of her volunteer time, she redesigned the organization's website, compiling a comprehensive site covering the organization's history, land holdings, newsletters, volunteer information and press releases. The website is now used as a meaningful tool to communicate with members, volunteers, the media and the public.
