About us:

Douglas M. Borthwick
Douglas Borthwick was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1965. He graduated with high honors from Muskingum College in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business, Economics and Religion. At Muskingum College he was the recipient of the Wall Street Journal Award and the Financial Executive Institute Award.  He received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1991 from Capital University Law School where he was the recipient of an academic scholarship and was on the Dean’s List.

Mr. Borthwick is admitted to practice before all of the courts in the state of California including Central, Northern, Eastern and Southern California United States District Courts as well as the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.  Mr. Borthwick has handled litigation for numerous corporate clients, including personal injury defense, amusement park accidents, entertainment accidents, slip and fall, vehicle accidents, product liability, construction defect litigation, mortgage and lending litigation and defense of health care providers. 

Mr. Borthwick’s current practice focuses on plaintiff personal injury, family law, and estate planning.

Mr. Borthwick also maintains inactive licensures in Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Arkansas, Minnesota, Ohio, North Dakota, and District of Columbia.

Robert A. Freeman
Robert Freeman was born in Long Beach, California in 1963. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree, with honors, in Business Marketing from California State University at Long Beach in 1987. He earned his Masters of Arts degree, with honors, in Conflict Resolution and Negotiations from California State University at Dominguez Hills in 1992. He earned his Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School in 1997. He was admitted to the California Bar Association in 1997. He was admitted to the Nevada Bar Association as General Counsel in 2006. 

Mr. Freeman has extensive experience as both a mediator and as an arbitrator. He possesses over eighteen years of experience as a top negotiator for large insurance companies such as Liberty Mutual, State Farm, and C.S.A.A.  During his career, he has been instrumental in resolving numerous, multi-million dollar disputes.

Mr. Freeman has also served as General Counsel for Ultimate Sports Entertainment, Inc. – a five billion dollar casino/hotel development project in Las Vegas. 

Mr. Freeman has extensive experience in all aspects of personal injury, real estate development, corporate law, securities law and gaming law.
